14:37 - Vítor Baía
Hello everyone, nice to chat with you today and looking forward to all your questions. Sorry for the slight delay. OK, let's get started...

Lucho and Lisandro made a terrific impression in the champions league last season. Of all Porto's newcomers this summer, who should we look out for this season and why?
14:38 - Vítor Baía
We have now Falcao, the striker, and also a new left-back, Alvar Pereira, also a good player. In midfield, we have Belucci, formerly of Olympiacos. They have the same qualities of Lisandro and Lucho, both fantastic players.

Why didnt qualify Sporting Lisbon for Champions League groups? What did miss at the portuguese players?
14:39 - Vítor Baía
It's not a good result for Portuguese football, although they are now involved in the UEFA Europa League. Life goes on!
14:39 - lusoafrica
Hi Vitor ,
U've had a great career with many highlights . What do you think was the main highlights of your career ?
14:41 - Vítor Baía
In 2003, at FC Porto, winning the UEFA Cup versus Celtic - this was my first European title with the club. We then went on to win the UEFA Champions League, an amazing achievement for our club - a wonderful memory. For Portugal, playing at all EUROs and World Cups provide great memories, especially EURO 2000 at Holland/Belgium where we went to the semi-final.
14:41 - bsousa
what do you miss the most from your footballers life?
14:42 - Vítor Baía
I miss the big games both UEFA Champions League and also for Portugal. Great atmosphere and big pressure - that's what I miss the most.
14:42 - Quochung
How do you think about new Portugese star - Cris Ronaldo?
14:43 - Vítor Baía
One of the best players of the world. For me, THE best. As a Portuguese person, we are very proud of him. Real Madrid will be different for him in terms of pressure. But he is strong and I think he will be a big success there.
14:44 - grubby
with portugal struggling to qualify and team like australia currently ranked above portugal, do you think it's time for a serious rethink of national team operations?
14:45 - Vítor Baía
I actually think we are going in the right direction. Carlos Queiroz has been closely involved in reorganising the national team at all levels. The results are not being seen yet, but I think in the future all our national teams will show a better balance - and better results.
14:45 - mad66mix
What is in your opinion the best Goalkeeper in the world today and what will be the next revelation regarding goalkeeping for the next years?
Obrigado
14:46 - Vítor Baía
The goalkeeper role has changed the most in the past years given all the rule changes and we need to adapt to all of this. It's hard to say who is the best - there are three or four at the top. Cech, Casillas, Van der Sar and Buffon are in that top echelon.
14:46 - red21
do you think that Porto can make progress this year and go until the semifinals or the final of UCL?
14:47 - Vítor Baía
First, we want to get past the group stage, that's the first challenge. Then when you get to the knockout stage, anything can happen, and we can be very strong in those type of game. We fear the group stage probably more than the knockout phase, to be honest.
14:48 - Filipe_Moreira
You played at Estádio das Antas and Estádio do Dragão. What atmosphere do you prefer?
14:49 - Vítor Baía
Das Antas was an old stadium and conditions/facilities there were not great. Now, the new stadium is beautiful and with brilliant facilities for the fans and players and anyone who visits will realise that it is one of the most beautiful stadiums in Europe.

Hello Vitor. What was Mourinho like as a coach?
14:51 - Vítor Baía
He is very organised, very intelligent. He always protects the group of players in his control - and he knows a lot about football, which is very important. We need to be centralised as a team - starting with the goalkeeper in terms of organisation. He was a perfectionist in that sort of situation. I am not surprised by his development as a coach. He is really fantastic, certainly one of the best.
14:52 - sudip
Vitor, you were part of the "golden generation" of Portuguese football. Inspite of such promise, you never could manage the lofty heights at the international level. Is that one regret the likes of yourself, Luis Figo, Rui Costa, Fernando Couto and the rest
14:54 - Vítor Baía
We expected to win a big competition with the national team, but we ended up having problems here or there and we never could really achieve our aim. In 2003, Luiz Felipe Scolari arrived and he never gave me a chance to play for the national team - and he never explained why. I was coming off a great achievement at club level and I never understood why I would miss out on EURO 2004 in my home country.
14:55 - fedonoly
what are your plans for the future? do you have any ambitions to be a manager?
14:55 - Vítor Baía
Now I am director of international relations at FC Porto and I want to make a career in this area. We will see what the future brings for me...
14:56 - Paul87
Hi Vitor ! For me, you was the best goolkeapper ever !
Now who is for you the better potuguese gollkeepper ?
14:58 - Vítor Baía
We have a problem in that area because we don't train goalkeepers well in the development phase - from a very young age. We have good goalkeepers but nobody at the top level. I hope that someone will come through the ranks in the not too distant future. Ventura, an FC Porto player, who is on loan at Olhanense - he has all the talent to get to that level, but it depends on him.
14:59 - Vítor Baía
Thanks for all your questions. I hope you continue to love football, appreciate fair play, say no to racism and appreciate the nationality and the origins of all the players. See you in the UEFA Champions League later this season!
